Pours a very turbid murky mess of a beer. Honestly, this is par for the course for Bissell, but it looks like rotting cantaloupe flesh. Moving past that, it is soft and melony with some earthy bitterness. It is very Bissell. Also, provides some hoppy burps.

Pint can - dated 2/13/19 - poured into a tulip at fridge temp.

Pours a 99.9% murky pale burnish orange, with two fingers of off-white foamy head that. Quickly recedes to a thick cap, with some spotty weak lacing.

Nose: Explosive. Deep, dank, musty, overripe stone fruits mango, peaches, papaya, with a hint of deep berries, and pungent grassiness. Certainly some Mosaic in here. It's fruity, but also incredibly dank, from very late dry hopping, bringing prominent notes of earthiness anf black pepper. On par with some Tree House beers.

Palate: Opens up with some grapefruit rind citrus, followed by the rupee, sweeter fruit notes. The taste leans more to the tropical side of things, with mango, papaya, some pineapple, and even a hint of guava and kiwi. Some rich, dry, earthy (Galaxy??) notes quickly follow. The malt sweetness is quite restrained, perhaps to the detriment of the beer. Thid could use a kiss of honey sweetness, but it isn't anywhere to be found. Finishes dry, moderately bitter, and with the earthier notes prevailing.

Mouthfeel/Body: That lack of malt richness shows in the body of the beer as well. It's big in flavor, and packs quite an ABV punch, but the body feels a little thin and brittle. No creaminess or heft to it, allowing the hops to steal the spotlight. The effervescence is surpringly high, furthering the lighter, airy feel of the beer.

Overall: I appreciate the cause behind the beer, and I'm always willing to contribute to a cause. The flavor of the beer is great. I don't know what hops they're using, but I'm getting big influences of Mosaic and Galaxy. It tastes great - I just feel this could have been a lot better with some more thoughtful brewing. Still, a good NEIPA, and worth trying.

12 oz pour at the brewery. Hazy light golden yellow with 3/4 in head. Mellow citrus and pine on the nose. Flavor starts out with tropical fruit (pineapple, mango) and a surprisingly bitter finish (pine, grapefruit pith). The bitterness lingers on the palate. Smooth mouthfeel. Really decent NEIPA.

Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch white head over a very cloudy, golden body with scant lacing. Very nice nose of tropical fruit, sweet citrus, and a bit of pine. Taste doesn't quite follow the nose as the flavors are of citrus pith bitterness and pine resin. Tropical fruit flavors are there, but taking a backseat to bitterness. Finish is all bitterness. Nice feel and overall, almost solid, but for the lack of smooth balance. Cheers!

Preserve & Protect pours a hazy and thick orange juice yellow with a fat and dense 1-finger head that retains good lacing, which coats the glass. The smell is big and juicy citrus and tropical fruits including ripe oranges with an earthy grass and danky hop feel to it. The taste. Big, ripe and juicy tropical fruits bursting with flavor with a candied orange sweetness and a grassy backside with just a minor hop bite. Light and well bodied, easy drink with no alcohol hotness.

My favorite NEIPA, hands down. Every aspect of this beer is spot-on; I believe Bissell has created the perfect hop-profile. I hope they start making this more!

Bissel nailed it with this one, I had this back to back with Substance and P&P beats it hands down. It is a classic New England IPA, juicy, pineapple, citrus. It rivals Tree house Julius. Will try them side by side next.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2018, Gold Session. Really hazy peach color. Aroma has dank hops, juicy fruits and ripe oranges. Taste has ripe juicy tropical fruits, some grain notes and an earthy, leafy bitterness on the finish.

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a juicy looking and super hazy orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like tangerine, candied orange, weed, grass, and grapefruit.

This stands up to their biggest DIPA guns (Swish and Reciprocal). It's a big juicy blast, with lots of sweet tangerine and orange candy, a bit of weedy dankness on the back end, grassy bitterness, and the requisite grapefruit. It's a classic DIPA through and through- most everything you want in the style, really.

This is surprisingly light bodied and drinkable, with a good level of carbonation.

Bissell knows how to massage those hop cones, and knows how to bring the hazebois to the yard. This is great.

On tap at bar. Bright sweet citrus with a tanginess on the nose. Very cloudy with white head. Taste is pungent with bright citrus hop with a semi sweet base to it. Feel very soft. Moderate to high bitterness in the finish - unusual for bissell beers..

Really a fantastic offering.

Big pineapple notes. Medium mouthfeel for the style. Darker orange opaqueness. I don't get as much of that signature Bissell flavor from this as most of their other IPA's.
