Sigil 3 is a blend of barrel-aged oatmeal stout and barrel-aged barleywine aged for months in used Kentucky bourdon and New England rye whiskey barrels. We then blended some fresh (non-BA) smoked Russian imperial stout into the beer.

Drank September, 2020 out of a wine glass. Canned April, 2018 or thereabouts.
Look - 4, Smell - 3.75, Taste 3.75, Feel 3.5, Overall 3.75
Really flat and can’t say it tasted all that great, albeit definitely complex. I could taste some port notes and smoke, but I ended up drain pouring the last few ounces, just wasn’t enjoyable to drink. My conclusion is that I would have liked it more fresh, but the the two plus years of aging isn’t all that long, and that amount of time should really have served to improve this beer. Bummer as I have another can; maybe that one will be better.
Drank second can June, 2022 and it was much better - really quite good in fact, updated my ratings to reflect a quality and well aged beer!

16 oz can poured into willybecher glass.
A: Small creamy looking slightly tan head that slowly settles to a film. Body is a pitch black as to be expected.
S: Light notes of bourbon some oak, leather, alcohol, then some chocolate and roasted malts.
T: Lots of conflicting favors some sweet figs, and chocolate clash with a slick cheap whiskey taste. Lots of undertones of dark fruit maybe some light chocolate.
M: Medium bodied to slightly fuller a little alcohol slickness makes it slightly thin.
O: The flavors do not meld well in this beer l, to many conflicting flavors and the barrel characteristics feels like a shot of shitty whiskey was added.
