750 ml bottle, dated July 2019, drank July 2019.
Poured a light hay color with a generous white head, smell was a very light Bretty smell. Taste was smooth with some wine barrel character and the same light mild Bretty tartness to it that became slightly more distinct as it warmed. Feel was light and mild.
This was a "wheat beer aged in wine barrels with spices". To me it was kind of a "wheat farmhouse ale with some Brett yeast". It lacked a bit of identity but not in a bad way - not really a sipper, but not a quaffer either - I kept wanting to quaff, but "respected it like a sipper". I kept wanting a little more wheat body to it, more spices to come through, and / or more tartness from the Brett...just something more than what I was getting...but in the end, it turned out to be solid and I really enjoyed it. Overall, I think of it as a delicate and well done saison that I'd enjoy drinking again.
