A really unique beer, and one that will put you on your *ss if you drink a lot of it! Picked up a single pint can in late 2019. This has a really rich taste, and for the high ABV managed to keep an enjoyable mouthfeel without becoming too syrupy. The maple came through (which often it doesn't for me in maple-flavored beers). It also had nicely balanced bourbon barrel characteristics from the smell through the finish, and plenty of other flavor complexity, with chocolate and a little coffee mixed in. Not a beer I'd drink regularly due to the potency, but really a nice treat - worth getting your hands on one! The best from Bissell Brothers that I've tried...

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. Part of a swap with my buddy @Schuee. Thanks homie!
The beer opens with a pop and pours shockingly dark black, may be enhanced by the black can top. But definitely caught my attention. A fizzy brown head of 1 cm foams up with the pour but these bubbles quickly fade to a sturdy edge layer.
The aroma is robust and malty with roasted notes, dark chocolate and a good hit of bourbon too, some solid maple notes mixed in too. No hop character and the ABV seems well hidden too. Nice nose on this brew, hope it carries forward into the tasting.
First sip reveals a medium body with a slick mouthfeel and fine, prickly carbonation that rips across my palate on each mouthful. Leaves a sticky coating on my lips with each sip.
Flavor is what the nose predicted with lots of malt. I get roasted notes and then brown sugar and dark chocolate with a good hit of maple sweetness on the finish. Again, no hops and the booze only comes through as a little warmth after each swallow. This is a pretty robust flavored big beer and is surprisingly drinkable for its hefty ABV.
Glad to have tried this and would definitely go and get again if I had a chance to do so.

This one pours a dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like earthy maple, sweet chocolate, oak, bourbon, and coffee.

As porters go, this is much more fuller-bodied than I would have expected. There's a solid but not overwhelming level of maple, with chocolate, solid roast, some coffee-like flavors, etc. There's a good bit of well-integrated bourbon, and lots of oak. The oak helps keep the maple sweetness at an approachable and delicious level.

This is creamy, medium bodied, and lusciuous, with no real booziness, and a good drinkability despite the higher ABV.

It's hard to not enjoy this one. It's well done.

This is the best porter I’ve ever had. Not entirely sure what makes this a porter and not a stout, but I would definitely call it a stout. Full bodied, amazing maple smell and flavor along with just enough wood/barrel flavors to balance everything out. What a great beer
