This one pours a really appealing golden red color, with a small fluffy head that dissipates quickly, and lots of lacing.
This smells fantastic - there's a yogurty fruitiness and some lactic lemon, along with loads of raspberry, seedy and juicy strawberry, and just a hint of vanilla sweetness.
I'm really impressed that a beer this evocative and complex came from Bissell Brothers. That's not to say I don't like Bissell Brothers - I just never really have known them for doing wild ales, or basically anything that's not hoppy. The raspberry is the star here, dominant, juicy, slightly tart, and just so vibrant. The acidity is perfect, almost a yogurt-like pleasant funk, with some lemon and oak. The strawberry is secondary to the raspberry, naturally, given the intensity of flavors between the actual fruits. That little shot of vanilla sweetness just on the back end is extremely inviting.
This is light bodied, with a sparkling and crisp mouthfeel. Pouring the dregs in thickens up the body a little bit.
This was such a pleasant surprise. It was really tasty, and I clearly need to rethink how I view this brewery.
