Sigil VIII is a blended stout, aged for over two years in Bourbon barrels featuring a kiss of smoked malt. Just the right amount of subtle warmth at a sneaky 11%.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells mildly smoky, with milk chocolate, cookie dough, roasted malt, and oak.

I loved smoked beers, and this is done is a nice, subtle way. It’s warming, mildly sweet, and herbal, with a nice fudgy stout backbone, roast, a touch of bourbon, and a nice long oaky finish.

This is medium bodied, creamy, and not super boozy, by any means.

This series is absolutely underrated. I can’t imagine that this one is a fan favorite, but I really enjoyed it.
