Poured from a 16 oz can. Beautiful beer with dark brown color, great clarity and thick, creamy brown head. Nose is full of burnt grain, light wood and some smoke. There is an interesting smoked herbal note that I can't identify; it may be from a specific malt variety. Flavors are also smoky, roasted grains with a spicy hop highlight. The combination is very nice for an American Brown Ale. Medium body with a clean and dry finish. Spritzy carbonation. Moderate hops bitterness and alcohol presence. This is a well-balanced and tasty example of the style.

Opaque dark brown with a large beige head. Aromas of the toasted caramel kissed malts, leather, and earthy yeast. Taste has big tobacco, leather, toasted caramel, earth, cocoa, and great brown yeast that is soft and airy. Feel is lush and smooth while staying light and frothy.

Murky brown color. Malty, light nutty (hazelnut?) and light toasty/roasty aroma and flavor. Good balance of flavors with light complexity. Medium to light bodied with a nice malty finish.

Pours medium brown with a two-finger tan head that holds up nicely.

Aromas of toasted bread, fresh brown bread, toffee, nougat, nut, and earthy.

On the palate, this keeps the malty/earthy notes that the nose preludes, with brown bread, toast, burnt caramel, and nuts all mixing with a dose of earthy hop bitterness that builds into the finish.

Medium-light body but with moderate carb that keeps it from feeling thin. Finishes slightly dry.

Overall, really good American Brown. At cellar temps, it opens up and is everything a brown should be.

Quite solid winter drinker right here. Surprisingly dark brown appearance, almost like a stout. Has that nice brown ale malty nuttiness and quaffability. Great for apres ski

A: Pours a deep brown color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a decent cap that leaves good lacing

S: Toasted malt, caramel, light nuttiness, and some earthy undertones. Lightly sweet

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the toasted malt, caramel, toffee, and nutty undertones. Picks up some earthy tones and very light molasses. Finishes with lingering toasted malt, toffee, and earthy hop notes

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth

O: A very good brown ale that is super easy to drink. Well balanced. Worth checking out

Great brown ale. Breweries don’t make these enough anymore because they’re not hop bombs, but it’s nice to have a change of pace beer. Very tasty, touch of sweetness and nuttiness balance out. Excellent fall beer in front of the fire pit.

Given a single can, cannot decipher a canned on date. My fourth brew from these guys. I am not a brown ale fan, so would not have normally sought this out, but this was good

16 oz can into a willi belcher.

Pours a hazy deep copper brown color with a massive, fluffy khaki colored head. Stubborn retention, the head leaves a bit of sticky, cobweb lacing as it finally dissipates into a thick blanket of foam.

The aroma brings notes of brown bread, brown sugar, caramel, and subtle coffee with an even more subtle hint of milk chocolate. Spicy and piney from the hops with a nice, earthy character.

The flavor starts off a bit closer to an English brown ale: Caramel and brown bread with a fair bit of dark fruits. Then comes a modest wave of milk chocolate, roasted malts, roasted nuts and coffee with a bitter, earthy hop finish.

The feel is on the lighter side of medium with moderate carbonation. Very smooth with a dry finish. Exceptional drinkability.

Overall, this is a great, highly drinkable brown ale. It hits all the notes you expect from the style and never tires the palate with roastiness or hops. Very well done.
