BISSELL BROTHERS RESURRECTION BBA milk stout 1/1/22
Pored from the 16.9 oz. bottle into an English nonick.
a: Opaque black with a cherry tinge at the top and no head.
s: Strongly of bourbon, again with a slight black cherry soda note.
t: Like bourbon in black cherry soda but more subtly than in the aroma.
m: Lighter side of medium, quite a lot of carbonation tingle.
o: So it's a milk stout but seems more like what I described in the taste. Delicious and dangerously easy drinking for 13.2 ABV. Slight marks off for not tasting more milk stoutish, but very enjoyable .

Bissell Brothers classic Revival stout aged in bourbon barrels for 18 months (one of two Resurrection stouts, the other being Revival aged in rum barrels).
Barrel aging Revival turns a great stout into a spectacular one. Bissell aged Revival in rum and bourbon barrels to similar effect. It’s your personal preference if you like the bourbon or rum influence.
Compared with the rum barrel Resurrection, this one smells, tastes, and feels the alcohol more, even though it’s a little less at 13.2% vs. 13.9%. Both have delicious complexity with multiple malt and caramel notes. In this one the bourbon is more prominent. Your preference will depend on whether you like bourbon or rum.
An outstanding beer, either way.
