Pours a small fizzy dark brown head with low retention, bit of lacing, long legs, pitch black color
Nose big roasted dark malt, a bit of char and heavy roast, very dark chocolate, nice vanilla barrel and a bit of buttery oak, some fruity notes almost like apple brandy thing but then turns into fruity rum, a bit of caramel and toffee, some coffee, little nougat and cookie dough, bit of bourbon, plenty of fruity esters and sweet rum,
Taste brings plenty of rum barrel up front, not over powering but big juicy fruity sweet rum, a bit of bourbon and barrel juice, vanilla, buttery oak, malts kick in with roasted malt, dark dark chocolate, cocoa, a bit of fudge, thick chewy nougat like, a bit of baking spices, marshmallow, fair warming alcohol, more baking spices late with fruity rum and bit of bourbon lingering, semi sticky sweet finish
Mouth is super rich full bod, chewy like, a bit velvety, lighter carb, a bit of warming tingly alcohol
Overall this was quite nice, rum really came through without overpowering and bringing some sweet and fruity characters, bourbon was a bit lighter but barrel overall was nice, good base stout as well, a little alcohol but feels a lot less than 14%
