A revival is no small feat; A resurrection is different type of magic altogether. We Rick Moranis-ed the spirit of our milk stout Revival to a size hefty enough for barrel-aging. The beer was left for dead in bourbon barrels for nearly a year until Resurrection awoke anew.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small fluffy head, and a bit of lacing.
This smells like rye spice, caramel, milk chocolate, and vanilla.
This is extremely good. It’s perfectly creamy and sweet, with the barrel adding a lot oaky bitterness, rye spice, leather, tobacco, and lots of roasted malt. There’s some vanilla like flavors, maybe from the barrel or maybe from the fact it has some lactose. There’s a bit of boozy heat, but nothing all that intense.
This is super creamy, not all that boozy, but warming, with a nice drinkability. As the beer warms, the barrel character becomes more pronounced, more complex, and more delicious.
Bissell Brothers is sneakily one of the better barrel aged beer purveyors in their area, and this is a great example of that.
