This one pours a dark-ish black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells chocolatey, with some roast, oaky spice, espresso, and tobacco.
This is really great series overall – there’s a ton of barrel here, which is to be expected given the maximum of 25 months in the barrel. It’s oaky, slightly spicy, but balanced well by the creamy sweet chocolate and coffee notes.
This is medium bodied, not all that boozy, and quite drinkable for the ABV.
I’ve had about half of the beers that are in this series, and they’ve all been quite enjoyable.
