The best beer I've had in a few days, and I've been trying a bunch of flights. Nice nose, great aftertaste, the right look, and the rich dark coffee notes tastes live up to the billing of everything the you know about a beer before the glass actually touched your lips.

On tap at Stoup's.
Appearance : Lovely chocolate brown color, leaving lots of milky lace on the sides of the glass. 100% opaque.
Smell : Nuts, chocolate, and an over-abundance of roast malts.
Taste : Coffee, light cacao nibs, light smoke, and a bitter hop finish with notes of coffee bean and more smoke.
F : Creamy, medium bodied, and ends fairly dry.
Overall : I'd have it again, and shortly after drinking this I asked if they did bottle distribution yet. The answer was no unfortunately, but it prompted the question. So of course I'd drink it again given the chance.

Serving on tap at the Stoup taproom.
Oooh, this is an intense dark roasty porter, just full of flavor, and perfectly balanced. Nothing shy or mild about this baby. The beer doesn't seem bitter to me, but it does have 45 IBUs, so I suppose a little bitterness is part of that deep intense combination of flavors.
The roasted character seems just perfect to me. It's not over the top charred, but it is dark, dark, dark.
This is my favorite porter in quite a while. I find many porters to be a little underwhelming, and usually prefer the stronger stouts, but this one is competitive with the best.

I had this on-tap in a taster glass at the brewery. This beer was 6.2% at the time I tasted it.
Appearance: rich, deep brown with a fair amount of haze and a thin layer of tan foam. A good looking porter!
Smell: rich, roasty, coffee aroma with a little caramel character and just the right amount of sweetness. Spot-on for the style.
Taste: much like the aroma, a very nice, roasty quality. There's a little less coffee here than in the aroma, but it is very balanced and quite good. Bitterness is maybe a little high for the style, but it works here.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and concomitantly large creaminess. Stoup really has this element down.
Overall: a very good robust porter. I could see myself drinking a lot of this.
