drank this one twice in the same day at different times, and got a real good sense of what its all about. its a really tasty one, more unfiltered looking than intentionally hazy in the modern sense. it has a rich orange honey color and a nice white head from the tap, both away from the brewery and at it. the hops here are a unique combination of cascade and amarillo apparently, which is perhaps a bit of an unconventional mix, but its smartly done, shockingly fresh, and stands up to their best and most interesting hoppy beers that we also had here. so few hops can stand up to cascade in terms of flavor, not be bullied out, run over, whatever, its such a strong and often dominant profile that every beer drinker knows, but here, the amarillo, which i know to be distinct but not a bruiser, stands right up to it, and really there is great interplay and back and forth between the two, melon and peppy citrus from the amarillo, a more well known piney bite to the cascade, in both nose and taste, both there pretty much all the way through but with a climax about on the swallow. its quite bitter, but the fruity freshness of the whole thing keeps it from being too much. they really do mix well, the two varietals in here. the dry hop is awesome, but the whole hop complexion is too. its also pretty drinkable for how flavorful it is, i dont want to set the glass down, and there is a big northwestern resinous texture to it as well, but nice carbonation pushing through. i loved this, i loved all the hoppy beer at stoup, i think i love stoup!
