6oz pour at the Spokane branch of Flatstick Pub for $7.
Dark with a fairly thin, tan head. Spotty lace.
Bourbon-y and brown sugary nose. Smells nice, but not super boozy. The bourbon is kinda laid back compared to a lot of bbq stouts.
Whoa! Significantly more complex in the taste. Bourbon flavor is present, but so's some coffee and chocolatey notes. Very little "heat" for an 11% abv BA beer.
Mouthfeel manages to be somewhat thin for the style, yet creamy.
If you told me this was something that'd been laid down for a couple years, I'd not have disagreed. But there's no information telling me that was the case, so I'm left to presume it's fairly fresh. It's disturbingly easy to drink, so perhaps it's for the best it's only available tonight in a 6oz pour. Well done, Stoup.

On tap at Teku Tavern.
The beer is dark mahogany, with a minimal head. The smell is bourbon and dark fruits. The taste is similar, along with some licorice and vanilla, and maybe a hint of tobacco. It's very slightly sweet. The body is medium, neither thick nor thin.
Overall, it's excellent. It's quite intense, a real sipper. It reminds me a bit of Fremont's Rusty Nail, which I mean as high praise.
