Poured from a crowler into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a two finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus and lightly tropical fruit hops, orange, mixed tropical fruit, a hint of green onion and a little dankness. Flavor is lightly caramel malt, citrus and piney hops, lemon, grapefruit, pine needles, light mixed tropical fruit. Resinous pine finish with fleeting intense fruit esters. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A nicely made West Coast style IPA that starts off with mixed citrus and pine and finishes intensely piney. The start is fairly simple, almost like a pale ale, but the hop flavors build into a very satisfying, resinous lingering finish. I was intending to get Stoup's Citra IPA, but those crowlers were already sold out, so I picked this up. Pleased to have tried something new and enjoyable. With Bottleworks closing for a while in the general business hiatus in Seattle (joining most bottle shops in the city), my easy source for crowlers is now gone. I'd still like to support the breweries with take out, but it's going to be more difficult.
