Call us old-fashioned or retro or...old, but sometimes we long for the days of yesteryear. The days when Seattle was rainy and grungy and kind of greasy. When you didn't have to iron your flannel shirts and Birkenstocks were a fashion statement (only if they were really smelly and worn within a millimeter of the asphalt). In an effort to celebrate those angst filled days, we brewed this hazy IPA (like the skies back then, get it?). Unfortunately, due to our naturally sunny dispositions and close proximity to so many hopeful millenials, we couldn't help but pack it with the brightest, citrusiest, peachiest, passionfruitiest hops we could find-Citra, Mosaic and Galaxy. So, celebrate those glory days with Sandals & flannel.

I had this beer on-tap in a pub glass at Stoup’s Capitol Hill brewery.
Appearance: medium golden hue with plenty of haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam which leaves a good lace on the glass.
Smell: moderately sweet malt with a nice dose of tropical and citrus aromas. Volume could be turned up more, but still I like it.
Taste: again, a moderate sweetness with a more pronounced citrus character than the aroma. There’s a little bitterness and even a moderate hop burn, but still, this is a damn fine hazy.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a pretty solid hazy! I think maybe the hop burn is gonna limit me to one of these, but overall quite good.

16 oz can
Pours mostly clear golden, eggshell head retains as suds.
Aroma of fresh citrus and tropical fruits, sourdough bread malts, and zesty and earthy hops.
Flavor of sweet citrus fruit, herbal tea, zest, and earthy hops over bready malts.
Medium body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.
A solid, drinkable NEIPA. Very tasty and smooth. This style remains crowded and this beer doesn't really stand out so that's the only bad thing I have to say about it. Along with hundreds of other very good NEIPAs, this is another one I would totally drink more of if it was the one in front of me.

Lightly hazy yellow body with a white head and trace lacing. Smells of bright citrus, peach, and grassy hop with a decent bitter edge. Taste was juicy the whole sip through: peach, apricot, orange, lemon, grapefruit, light papaya, and mild hops rounding out. Impressed with the juice flavoring. Very drinkable and bright, but the middle gets quite thin before hop bitters come to aid, haze needs to be more consistent through the sip. Still, would have again on a sunny summer afternoon
