Poured into a Seattle Beer Week glass. Pours a lightly hazy, light to medium golden amber with a two finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus and dank hops, grapefruit, catty dankness, over-ripe light stone fruit and a touch of pine. Flavor is citrus, dank and piney hops, grapefruit, mixed tropical fruit, catty dankness and pine in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. I'm a fan of Stoup's IPA malt and they usually come through with the hop bill too; this is another nice one. Lots of flavors, with Simcoe anchoring things. Citrus and mixed fruit at first, then pine (it does taste a bit like spruce bud), which is strong in the resiny, solidly bitter finish. They gave themselves an A for this and it earns it. Great interaction of the hop flavors. I will get this again.

Clear amber brew with plenty of foam in the Troubadour tulip. The aroma is really interesting, like cedar and walnuts with something in the citrus family. Clean and crisp with a resiny finish. Flavors of fruit salad but with a spicy tang. Actually it taste like the spruce bud beer I just had. There is a medium bitter aftertaste with that woodsy note. Overall this is an intriguing and unusual hoppy brew. It's quite decent for sipping but rather strongly flavored. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station.
