Fresh Hop Fiend: Chinook/El Dorado

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a two finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale and lightly caramel malt, citrus, tropical fruit and dank hops, orange, grapefruit, mixed fruit punch; tropical flowers; a little dankness. Flavor follows, with citrus and tropical fruit hops, orange, mixed tropical fruit, floral notes; dankness and some grapefruit rind develop into a solidly bitter finish. Medium bodied with light to medium creaminess. These two hops are a winning combination in this modern West Coast style IPA that has both citrus and tropical fruit character. Nice citrus rind and lingering hop bitterness in the finish. Once again, one of my favorites of the year. Hope to see this one again.
