We brewed this beer for our friends at PCC Markets to celebrate the achievements of strong, passionate women everywhere. It's a West Coast IPA with a go get em' attitude. A medley of hops bring aromas of pink grapefruit, pine and sweet fruit. "I figure if a girl wants to be a legend, she should go ahead and be one." -Calamity Jane

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a two finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and piney hops, grapefruit, light pine and light stone fruit. Flavor has the same profile, with a little dankness added; nice citrus rind and pine finish with assertive, but not aggressive finishing bitterness. Medium bodied with light to medium creaminess. A fine West Coast IPA that hits the high points of that style. Nicely done. I originally wrote "I hope PCC Markets keep this one around for a while.", but I see from the date on this entry that it has been around for a year; don't know why I never noticed it before. Nicely done.

Mostly clear but I wouldn't call it crisp. Small white head that dissipates quickly. Lovely but nothing overly memorable.

Nose is a nice classic west coast IPA profile. Some sweet citrus, clean malts, a touch of pine. Pleasantly throwback.

Flavour is in a similar vein, but doesn't have quite the depth that I was hoping for. Straw like malts lay underneath with a decent hop blanket over the top. It's not punishingly bitter or anything, but the bittering hops are the focus. Nice pith and pine classic stylee.

It's a throwback and I'm here for it.
