Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival a fine one finger bone white head formed then slowly receded to a ring around the glass and light covering. The body is a light gold with a heavy hefe haze.
Aroma is GOOD. Smells like a real German style hefeweizen with a nice balance of banana and spice from the yeast. Some light grassy hops are present but they are largely covered up by the big yeast.
The taste is a bit less authentic, but still tasty. A pretty big hit of bitterness before a crackery/bready/wheaty malt note. A aslight mineral flavor is present, but this is pretty crisp.
Feel is super dry and a bit light with a pretty long finish. Despite the higher than normal hopping, the feel is still pretty refreshing. Carbonation is high but doesn't bite too much.
Overall this is a pretty good craft German style hefe. Authentic smelling with a twist on the flavor. No weird American wheat lemon notes here, and the bigger than normal hop is all bitterness and balances it pretty well. I just wish I could taste a bit more banana yeast sweetness.
