Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival 1 finger of fine lure white head was present. On first sip some lacing is produced. Body is your average golden straw with light carbonation. Head retention is good for the style, but this is a craft beer so I can't get too excited.
Aroma is interesting with a serious dryness and almost skunk. I get that maybe they're going after corona people with the Mexican lager here, but at least offer lime if you're gonna do that. Almost citrusy but there is a funk to it. Like elevated malty corona.
Flavor takes a U-turn. Hops are surprisingly bright and I'm suddenly getting malty new Zealand pils vibes. Pretty refreshing and drinkable with Flavor and some balancing bitterness. Honestly this would be pretty good with lime, but it certainly isn't required the hops are citrusy, but mostly provide flavor without a lot of bitterness and the light malts are present as well. Pretty interesting lager.
Feel is super drinkable and this would be gone already if I didn't already have a beer. Higher carbonation compared to a lot of beers I've beer drinking recently but not as much CO2 bite as some of the cheapo AALs. Pleasant & refreshing, even though it's late November haha.
Overall this is pretty good. At breweries I don't usually spring for the Mexican lager, and try to go for a traditional german lager style but this is very interesting, much more so than any macro Mexican import. Hops and malt are present, presumably corn but corny isn't specifically a tasting note compared to a lot of light craft lagers I've had (tivoli Outlaw I'm looking at you)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
