S: lager, bready malt
T: sweet lager. Taste a bit subdued compared to the aromas
M: smoothy mc smooth. Almost flat feel for easy drinking

Typical appearance for an Oktoberfest. Foamy off white head, left little lacing. Aroma and taste a bit caramel leading, albeit somewhat muted. Highly drinkable, not my favourite Marzen, but would drink again.

Single can from Jungle Jim's.
Clear amber color with a nice thick head.
Toasted malts, slightly nutty and hardly any sweetness.
Light to medium body with good carbonation.
Enjoyed it!

12 oz can, poured into a wili becher at ~40 degrees F.
L: Pours a clear light cherrywood red, and formed four+ fingers of billowy off-white foam with good retention and solid lacing.
S: Quite bready and toasty, with caramel drizzle and toffeed figs.
T: That is a pretty, pretty marzen. The base is rich layers of breads and toast with some unbaked grains, atop which cavorts a mix of seared caramel and dark toffee. Cherry, tree bark, and fig swim in the backdrop, and the finish and aftertaste linger as an earthy, bready mouth coating.
F: Medium and lively, this coats the mouth, as mentioned.
O: A delight of a marzen.

Canned on 7/20/21. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a burnt golden with nice clarity and transparency; fluffy off-white head that falls leaving very nice retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are basic for the style. Lots of toast. Mild hints of caramel and toffee. Lots of malts. The flavors basically follow the nose. More burnt toast leading the way. Lots of breads and grains. More hints of caramel and toffee. Moderate bitterness. Mild sweetness. Solid malt backbone. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's fluffy, sharp, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a solid Oktoberfest. It's a classic and traditional example of the style. Not bad at all.

Bottle dated August 1,2019. Great Lakes Tulip.
A: pours a beautiful dark amber, reddish copper with just under one finger of frothy off-white heads that settles into a nice thick cap that lasts a while. Streams of slowly rising carbonation bubble up.
S: redolent with the sweet, rich, figgy, toffee, smell of a great Marzen. Smells a little like a cherry tootsie pop.
T: despite the sweet nose, arrives fairy dry. Fills out on the mid palate to match the nose; rich cherry-like toasted malt flavors, quasi-fruity and sweet. The end of the drink snaps pleasantly back into a dry and lingering mild noble hop finish.
M: midweight, but hefty and chewy, with moderate carbonation. Clean on the finish, as it should be.
O: a really excellent Marzen, loaded with complex malt aromas and depth. That depth can grow tiring, though, so I would not want to session this. Hefty on the palate but finishes superbly clean. Wolf’s Ridge has definitely earned its place as my favorite local brewery. Would buy two of this to round out a pick six.

I tried this beer at The Daily Growler in Powell, Ohio . It poured a clear amber with thin white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had faint caramel malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with malt presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.

L-The beer pours a clear reddish brown with a 2 finger off white head. The head recedes to a thin ring with modest lacing present.
S- The nose is pleasantly malty without being sweet. The hops present are well balanced and behind the scenes.
T- The pleasant malty nose translates very well to the palate. The malts are toasty rather than sweet. Hops are there, but do not interject and detract from the malts.
F- The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium. Carbonation is restrained. Not the driest finish, but the toasty aspect of the malts help in this respect. I'd personally like a touch more carb to help with the finish.
O- A very well done American fest beer. I'd happily drink this again in the future.

500 ml bottle, no dating on it that I could find but I'm pretty sure it was released sometime in the fall of 2016. Served in an ATG mug, the beer pours a clear amber color with about an inch and a half off-white head. Head retention is good, and there's a decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like toasted malt, caramel, and some spicy hops. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some nuttiness noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and easy enough to drink. I wish I would have tried this fresher, but I didn't see any bottles until a couple weeks ago. Just have to wait until next year I guess! I thought it was a decent enough brew. $4.99 a bottle.
