From the 22 oz bottle in a snifter. This nice barley wine pours a
dark ruby tinged mahogany with a nice head of off white foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and shows no lacing. Nose of
dark raisin bread and brown sugars with some booze in the background.
Flavors surpass the nose with dark raisin and toffee amongst astringent
booze and brown sugars with touches of cherry and a strong herbal hop
note on the back. Nice mouth feel; medium body, medium light carbonation
that is a touch lively for the style, and a lightly dry warming finish.
Overall a solid little brew.
Cheers

22 ounce bottle, packaged on JAN 26 2018 stamped on the label. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a mostly clear dark copper/brown color with about an inch light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. The brew smells like raisin, toffee, earthiness, and dark bread. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some caramel, brown sugar and also a slight medicinal flavor. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and has a moderate amount of carbonation. I think this is a solid barleywine, but there's other barleywines out there that I like better. But with that being said, it's still worth a try! $12.99 a bomber.
