From the 16 oz can and poured into a snifter. This solid little imperial
pours a dark brown with a decent head of off white khaki foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some very nice lacing.
Nose of vanilla, toasted malts, nuts, dark cocoa, and dark brown sugars
with cream. Flavors are well presented with dark sweet chocolate, cream,
toasted walnuts, raisin notes, rich brown sugars, and nice roasted malts
amongst the vanilla. Nice mouth feel; medium full body, smooth, lightly
coating, light soft carbonation, and a lightly dry finish.
Overall----they could of called this an imperial brown ale in more ways
than one considering the reference to brownies.
That said it is a solid little brew.
Cheers

Canned on 1/13/21. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black; small khaki head that fades leaving okay retention and lacing. The aromas are malt forward along with some chocolate. Some raisins and walnuts. Some powdered sugar. Mild hints of coffee. The flavors are slightly rich. More chocolate leading the way. Lots of fudge. Hints of dark fruit in the mix. More powdered sugar coming through. The lactose isn't shy. It's definitely on the sweeter side, but it's not quite cloyingly sweet or over the top. Strong malt backbone. Mild warmth in the finish, but it's not hot or boozy at all. Mouthfeel is nice. It's full-bodied with moderate to low carbonation. It's fluffy, velvety, creamy and smooth.
This is a nice imperial stout. They did a nice job of emulating a brownie. Everything from chocolate, fudge, powdered sugar and walnuts can be found. It's on the sweeter side, but I guess that would be expected. It's bold, rich and enjoyable stuff.
