Wolf's Ridge Brewing

 

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle store. It poured a clear golden with thick white head that is leaving some nice lace. The scent had crisp grain malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with good czech lager presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer....one of the better dortmunders I've had....will pick up a 6pck if I see it again.

Canned on 3/22/21. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with a subtle haze; white head that fades leaving nice retention and lacing. The aromas are basically everything that you'd expect from the style. Some corn, crackers, breads and grains. Some floral notes as well. Malts are there. The flavors are clean, crisp and refreshing. More floral notes along with some subtle hints of citrus. More crackers, breads and grains. Solid bitterness. Malts do their thing. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is great. It's on the lighter side of medium-bodied with very active carbonation. It's extremely sharp, spritzy, crisp and smooth.

This is a great Dortmunder-style lager. It's a classic and traditional example of the style. It's very bold, clean, crisp and refreshing. They absolutely nailed it. It honestly gives another Dortmunder from Ohio a run for its money. I've had some nice stouts and IPAs from Wolf's Ridge, but the craftsmanship on this one is honestly more impressive. Awesome stuff.
