Can dated 5-10-2021. CBF pint.
A: pours a pale yellow with an ever so slight haze. Just about a half finger of frothy, dense head. Tons of carbonation streaming up. Pretty decent lacing, not super, but my glassware may not have been beer-clean.
S: lager yeast and a slight sour graininess. Smells like the yellow fizzy beers of my childhood.
T: Nice. Clean, grainy, watery, slightly sour, ever so slightly floral arrival. Moves cleanly across the center palate with a crisp, unobtrusive wetness. Finishes with a slightly funky, very slightly medicinal-hoppy, finish.
M: the lightest beer I have had in a long while. Quite light, highly attenuated, but with a pleasing frothiness.
O: this lacks the hoppy intensity of German lagers, and with the added rice it makes it very, very light. The hop presence that is here is not totally to my liking, but somehow it works. This beer goes great with a wide variety of foods, and as far as I am concerned is a perfectly executed craft adjunct lager. The question is whether it is worth paying $11 a six pack for. For me, I appreciate this brewery, and what it takes to make a beer like this on their scale. So yes, it is. Keep up the great work WRB!
