Pours dark brown with a one finger beautifully sculpted foam head that leaves nice lacing in the glass. Aroma is cinnamon and roast malt. Taste is peanut butter, chocolate, cinnamon and ending with a strong finish of vanilla. As the beer warms, the beer opens and adds depth. A nice pastry stout!

Canned on 5/26/21. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black; fluffy khaki head that fades leaving solid retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have a nice amount of peanuts and peanut shells. Hints of cocoa. Malts are there. The flavors follow the nose. More peanuts leading the way. Hints of salted caramel and vanilla. The cinnamon is pretty mild and subtle, but it's ultimately there. Strong malt backbone. Subtle bitterness. It's not as sweet as you might expect from a "pastry stout", which isn't exactly a bad thing. Mild warmth in the finish, but the alcohol is ultimately well hidden considering the ABV. Mouthfeel is nice. It's full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, silky, velvety, creamy and smooth.

This is a nice imperial stout. The peanuts shine. This one comes off as a true "peanut stout" versus a "peanut butter stout". Either way, it's enjoyable stuff. You have to appreciate it.

A: The beer is close to being jet black in color. It poured with a half finger high beige colored head that left lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of roasted peanuts are present in the nose along with notes of chocolate.
T: The overall taste is very nutty and has lots of flavors of roasted peanuts.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This stout tastes more like roasted peanuts than a peanut butter cup but is quite easy to drink considering its strength.
