This pours rather dark, like cola. Short head that faded immediately. I'm smelling oak and honey. It's got a brown sugar and caramel/toffee sort of deal. Ooh wow. The first taste is sort of chocolatey and is followed by a strong hit of alcohol. Following up, I get the dark fruit and honey. Bready, biscuity. Some vanilla. This is rich, yet mid-carbonated and smooth as heck. Mmm mmm.

22 ounce bottle, packaged 09/20/2022. Bought this at Kenny Road Market when Brutaltruth came up for some brewery visits a while back! Served in a snifter, the beer pours a murky very dark brown color with not quite an inch tan head that stuck around a little while. Good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like caramel, vanilla, bourbon, brown sugar, and toffee. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some dark fruit, earth, bready malt, oak, honey and some tart berry flavors. Leans sweeter tasting but it's not too sweet at all. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and a bit rich with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good barrel aged barleywine, definitely worth picking up if you come across a bottle or 2!

From the 22 fl oz bottle in a snifter. Not sure if I got this one from Bluejacket74
or was bought at the amazing Kenny market?!?! This excellent brew pours a dark
muddled brown with a moderate head of khaki foam that settles to a thick ring, thin
wafting layer, and sports some nice light lacing. Nose of bourbon, vanilla, oak, toffee,
astringent booze, and light biscuit with warmth (let it warm!). Flavors expand on the
nose with toffee, date, berry notes of tart cherry, oak, bourbon, vanilla, honey, biscuit,
and hints of cranberry dashed with brown sugars. Nice mouth feel; medium body,
faint carbonation, smooth as silk, warming, rich, and finishing with a medium dry
teetering towards full on dry warming booze finish.
Overall-----WOW!!!!!! Please import this one to Cincinnati, it is worthy of another
go and begs to be enjoyed this coming Christmas / New Years (PLEASE!)
