We're pleased to say this beer was both fun and educational - as only the best collabs are! Our friends at Noble Beast joined our brewery team to craft a dark Mexican lager brewed with heirloom Oaxacan green corn that was grown and malted at Sugar Creek Malts in Indiana. The beer is light, crisp, and crushable, with just a hint of chocolate. Cheers to trying new things!

From the 12 oz can in a pint glass via Bluejacket74! Cheers Dude! This solid little
lager pours a lightly muddled dark brown with a nice head of khaki foam that settles
to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some nice lacing. Nose of bread crust, toasted
malts, and light cereal grains dashed with chocolate. Flavors surpass the nose with light
chocolate, dark bread and crust, almost a rye note, light cereal grains, and balanced light
herbal hops dashed with caramel malt. Mouth feel is medium light, medium carbonation,
smooth, and finishing subtly dry.
Overall, a SOLID brew!
Cheers

L: Chestnut coloring, dark brown with a reddish tint and a tall, foamy head.
S: Malty, bready.
T: Toasted malts, nutty, touch of chocolate.
F: Light to mid, well carbonated, a touch sticky.
A nice lawn beer that isn't another Corona knockoff. Somewhere between that and a schwarzbier. From two of my favorite state institutions.

12oz can served in a pint glass. Pkg Mar 30, 2023, 1104AM.
Appearance: Dark amber / ruby red beer with a light tan head. Some islands and strands of lacing noted.
Smell: Malty, with a little hint of corn and noble hops.
Taste: Roasted malt, a tiny hint of chocolate, and a sharp bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Brisk carbonation, approaching fizzy but not quite. A little sticky on the teeth.
Overall / Drinkability: This reminds me of a negra modelo (which is what I think of as a standard for dark Mexican lagers), but more bitter. I think it was channeling that style, but it obviously has some other things going on. Not bad, and easily drinkable, but I find I only want one at a time, not any more than a single can.

12 ounce can, print on the bottom of the can is pretty small so I can't read the date well but think it was a somewhat recent release. Looks like the date is something 30, 2023. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear dark reddish/brown color with about an inch and a half frothy light tan head that stayed around for a while. Lots of lacing, too. The brew smells like toasted malt, dark bread and some chocolate. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some toffee and nutty flavors. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth and easy enough to drink. I thought this was a good overall brew, wouldn't mind seeing this one being brought back at some point!
