Each year we blend a selection of barrel aged beers to create a unique cuvee for our anniversary. For our 10 year, we have combined fresh Dire Wolf with Maple Knob Creek Dire Wolf, Blanton’s Barrel Dire Wolf, our Weller barrel-aged Belgian Tripel, and Lord Maris Barleywine. This blend is sure to delight, crack a can and cheers to 10 years with us!

Surprised this wasn't up already. Short-can stout for the brewery's tenth anniversary. As these have always been fun for me to try, here's the next in the series.
Pours a deep black with a very light brown head. I actually got a decent size of foam here, which was unexpected. My pouring technique was no doubt exceptionally bad, which is to be expected. Still, a half-finger of foam is lingering on top of the oil slick, so there's that. I am getting an aroma of liccorice and baker's chocolate, toasted malts. Golden raisins from the barleywine. My nose is bad, so we'll see what happens in a bit. Otherwise, the taste is delicious. It has a nice char up front, but not the smoked lager sort; rather, it's a more refined toastiness buoyed on a bed of chocolate. Bits of liccorice and star anise are in there too. Peppery, baking spices, toasty malts. Dark and deep like a good cup of coffee. It's rather restrained for something so big. It's rich but smooth. Full, creamy, lingers in the back of one's mouth. A hit of sweet maple there. It's good, of course... not really sure how it compares to past iterations (if only they could be compared side by side), but getting to try these every year has become a fun tradition. I think this version is a bit more traditional and restrained, but that doesn't make it any less delicious.
