From the 8 oz bottle in a snifter. This unique ale pours a rich murky brown with a
modest head of khaki foam that settles to a thin ring. Nose of vinous port wine, faint oak,
subtle char, and dark berry notes. Flavors follow the nose with some additions. Dark
malts marry with char, oak, sherry / port wine notes, vinous dark berry notes, and subtle
soy amongst some dark breaded notes dashed with chocolate and coffee. Mouth feel is
full, smooth, rich, coating, lightly warming, lightly slick, faint carbonation, and a dry finish.

Overall, a very nice and unique hybrid from a fantastic brewery!

Cheers

Small bottle poured into a snifter. The beer pours black with a short tan head that fades out pretty quickly. Has a wine and malt smell and the taste follows. Dark fruit and bitter chocolate is present once your mind gets used to the strange dual paring here. The reality is that of contrast between the fruitier quad and the darker stout. The former is on top. Its body is on the lighter side of full. It's fizzy and a bit creamy.

This reminds me of the one I had at Jackie O's a couple of months ago. Cellar Cuvee 15, which was a stout and barleywine mix. It gets easier to deal with the more you drink it. It became surprisingly drinkable! But still hard to rate.

8 ounce bottle, packaged September 2023. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dark fruit, sherry, oak, dark chocolate and a bit of roasted malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some burnt/charred malt and anise flavors noticeable too. I think the dark fruit/sherry stands out to me in both the aroma and taste. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit creamy and coating with a good amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good blend, think it leaned a little more quad than stout for me, definitely worth trying if you get the chance!
