Welp, it's about that time!" Time for seasonal gatherings, potlucks, ugly sweater parties and the never ending "midwest goodbye." It's going to take at least an hour to leave the party, might as well crack another malty winter lager, listen to "just one more" story and be sure to not forget leftovers.

I tried a pint of this beer off the tapper at The Harvest in downtown Dublin, Ohio. It poured a dark amber with thin off white ring head that did not leave any lace. The scent had subtle roast grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with mild roast grain base with smooth bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a decent beer.

12 ounce can, packaged SEP 25 2024, label says 5.2% ABV. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a mahogany brown color with not quite an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark bread, rye and some earthiness. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some caramel and smoky flavors too. The label says this is a "winter lager" but it's a tasty brew for this time of year. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth, a bit creamy and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one, it's a good easy drinking brew. Worth a try if you get the chance!

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This excellent warmer pours a dark
brown with a nice head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring, thin
dusty layer, and displays some light lacing. Nose of toasted malts, sublte
smoke, and dark rye bread. Flavors surpass the nose with dark rye, crust,
subtle smoke, faint char, and balanced herbal hops. Mouth feel is medium,
medium light carbonation, and a moderately dry finish.
Overall, a solid warmer.
Cheers

What a peculiar brew! I generally enjoy Wolf's Ridge products, and this is pretty darn tasty.
Poured into a pint glass, and was greeted by a deep brown beer with about an inch of light tan head that reduced to a thin skim coat. Tons of lacing.
Smell was on the weaker side - mostly char and malts. Not bad, but faint.
Taste is outstanding. Sure, you have your dark breads and char, but this has a peculiar, unique, and delicious tobacco flavor! This isn't some stale cigarette flavor - its more like the aftertaste you get after enjoying a good cigar at the end of a family get together. Midwest vibes indeed. A nice bitterness on the finish
Mouthfeel is medium, a touch oily. Fits the flavor very well.
Wow this is a great beer.
