I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle store. It poured an opaque dark amber with thin ecru ring head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had roast and cocoa notes with an anise flare. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with mild semi sweet chocolate malt base with an astringent presence of coffee and black licorice. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with fizzy carbonation. Overall it is an ok beer.

12 ounce can, DEC 30 2024 stamped on the bottom of the can, Wolf's Ridge typically uses a packaged on date so I'm assuming that's what it is in this case. Served in a Teku, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch or so frothy tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. The brew smells like oats, dark chocolate, coffee and some roasted malt. The taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also a bit of dark fruitiness (blackberry) noticeable too. Didn't expect the blackberry flavor here but drank another can to make sure and it was in that one too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. Thought this was a nice overall brew, worth trying if you get the chance!

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This decent little oatey pours a
dark brownish black with a moderate head of khaki foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin swirling layer, and displays some nice
light lacing. Nose of roasted malt, dark coffee, and dark chocolate
nuances. Flavors hit the mark with coffee, dark cocoa, and mellow
grain notes. Mouth feel is medium, smooth, moderately coating, rich,
light carbonation, and finishing with a bitter malt note.
Overall, a decent little oatmeal stout.
Cheers
