From the 16 oz can in a snifter via Bluejacket74! Cheers Dude! This pleasant
surprise pours a murky blackish brown with a very nice head of khaki foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and displays some nice lacing. Nose of dark cocoa,
moderate char, deep roasted malts, subtle ginger, moderate coffee, toffee, and molasses.
Flavors hit the mark with char doused dark breaded malts, molasses, dark cocoa, dark
coffee, light ginger, deep roasted goodness, and toffee. Mouth feel is full, smooth,
rich, medium light carbonation, and a bitter malt finish.
Overall, a very well balanced stout that doesn't beat you to death with the ginger.
A stout for stout drinkers.
Solid!
Cheers

Poured a "used motor oil" black. Big, fluffy head. Good retention. Fantastic lacing. Perfect
Aroma was char, roasted grains, and (maybe?) some spices. It left me wondering how this was supposed to be a gingerbread stout.
Flavor is a bold, beefy stout. That burnt/charred flavor is about all you get. The reason for my low score on taste isn't because this is a bad stout. As a stout, its a solid performer. However, as a gingerbread stout, this is a complete failure. Hardywood makes a fantastic Gingerbread Stout. Great Divide used to make a gingerbread version of Yeti. Both were wonderful stouts that beautifully mimicked gingerbread. This is a stout that's just a stout - a stout whose label writes checks its flavors cant cash.
Mouthfeel is fine. Medium, good carbonation.
Overall: If you like stouts or feel like supporting Wolf's Ridge, then sure, pick it up. If you actually want a stout remotely suggestive of gingerbread, look elsewhere.

16 ounce can, packaged NOV 05 2024 stamped on the bottom of the can. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch of so frothy tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. The brew smells like roasted malt, ginger, dark bread and coffee. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma but with the addition of some burnt/charred malt and a hint of caramel. Was expecting this to taste sweeter but I'm kinda glad it isn't, and all the flavors are pretty well balanced with no one flavor overpowering the others. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit creamy and coating with a good amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good overall brew, think I'll have to pick up more of this one!
