From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This solid little black IPA pours a
dark blackish brown with a nice head of khaki foam that subsides to a
thick ring, thin layer, and displays some nice lacing. Nose of light bakers
cocoa, subtle coffee, pine hops, and citrus hops. Flavors surpass the nose
with a fine presentation of light coffee, dark roasted malts, subtle char, light
bakers cocoa, some dark breaded notes, and pine as well as citrus hops
that are all well balanced. Mouth feel is medium, medium carbonation,
smooth, and finishing with a roasted pine and citrus note.
Overall, a style not made as much as it used to (Rogue comes to mind),
but well presented and very well balanced.
Excellent

12 ounce can, canned on MAR 04 2025 stamped on the bottom of the can. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this, I had been thinking about picking some up at my local store recently but just never got around to it. Served in a Teku glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells mostly like pine and roasted malt, along with a hint of citrus. The taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but I think the roastiness stands out compared to the other flavors, then the pine, and a bit of citrus. There is some bitterness in the finish that hits after a little while. Nice and tasty, although I do wonder what a fresher version of this would be like. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit slick and creamy with some good carbonation. I thought this was good, wouldn't mind trying it again in the future!

I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle store. It poured an opaque dark amber with egg shell white head that is leaving a nice lace. The scent had roasty notes with subtle pine waifs. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with dark chocolate malt base with pine hints. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Currently my favorite beer. It's a shame it's seasonal. The flavors are balanced perfectly between the typical stout flavors and the IPA flavors.
