On tap at the brewery – Taster from flight

A: Ruddy copper body with poor visibility throughout. Some active streamers build up to a nice soft ivory cap that holds over top for several minutes before subsiding out to a frothy ring. Lacey chunks splash up against the glass walls at each tousle.
S: Smells of caramel malts and lightly toasted breads with some earthy hops and light spices. I get a bit of tangy grapefruit upon second pull along with soured oranges. Doesn’t seem quite right actually with a subtle flaw emerging. Can't quite pinpoint it but it seems a bit sour and out place here.
T: More soured oranges are pronounced in the flavor. There is a light caramel malt base underneath with some soft breads an no real hop bitterness coming through. Can’t get over the fact that something is quite off about this. Yeast ferm temperature or something. This is just too sour for an American Amber with a muted hop and malt presence. Sour orange and moldy spiced bread really. Not very good.
M: Fine enough. Moderate to lighter body. Somewhat smooth with a drying lift towards the finish. Kind of tart and not all that resinous or laced with hop oils.
D: Not very good at all with the flaws becoming more so as the brew sits to room temp. Where to start…Needs some major repairs. Single out the process issues and correct. Then add a bit more malt complexity with some additional dry hopping.
