i was simultaneously surprised and stoked that my girlfriend ordered this ipa when we were here. not usually her thing, but we both thought this was pretty good. this place is just downright underrated. it isnt as hazy as i expected, well behind what the kids think is cool these days, but not perfectly clear either, nice and pale with a short white head in the pint. it smells fresh, bitter for a new england type, and mostly like citra hops without a ton of grain in the way, and the flavor agrees, more hops than expected and much more bitterness, even a little late onset hop burn, which i dont mind here. citra for sure, likely something more notably high alpha, centennial or something, light pine there too, orange and lemon zest, but still balanced by the pale barley malt base, simple but good. light breadiness to it, clean though, and zippy and fresh with a light jellybean sort of sweetness. feels right but could use a little more carbonation. overall good ipa, familiar and even a little safe for what they are advertising it as, but easy drinking and tasty. these guys probably deserve more credit than they are getting.
