Dark, foamy, hints of bakers chocolate, coffee. Not much sweetness going on. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Decent winter beer but nothing special.

L-Dark brown...tan head
S-Hershey's milk chocolate aroma...coffee
T-More dark cocoa on the flavor....roasted malts.....coffee...light dry bitterness on the finish
F-Medium bodied...dry finish
O-Lacks the lactose sweetness I like in a stout but has that espresso like dimension going on. Decent enough but not one I would reach for again.

Nice everyday Stout. Strong roasted flavors of coffee and chocolate, but not quite as much sweetness as I expected (which is a good thing). Fairly hefty body for the moderate abv, with a nice dry finish. My initial impression of this brewery was lukewarm (due to the IPA), but everything else I have had is quite nice.

I had this in a flight a Tin Whiskers last weekend. It's one of the better stouts that I've had. It pours a dark brownish/black. Some stouts taste of dark fruite--like plums--but this one doesn't. It is more of a mocha or coffee taste. Really good!

a very good stout, one of the best beers at this cool minnesota brewery. its built in the milk stout fashion, quite sweet, lots of body, soft corners, and a lot of nice roasted barley depth. shiny and clean looking, viscous for its lower abv, and sorting a full foamy thick inch of light brown head with gorgeous retention. sweet right from the first sip, its nice at first, but by the end of the glass it feels like a lot, and in the end i think its quite a bit sweeter than it needs to be, but i still really like it. great roast to this, coffee beans come to mind, lots of balancing bitterness from all the dark unmalted roasted barley, and i get a hint of smoke on the back end thats really nice. smooth and mellow feeling with lots of body, a lot of sugar obviously, but a cool minerality too. its cool how sturdy this feels for being lighter in alcohol, a nice contrast there. this is good four season stout, very well made and quite memorable as they go. i liked all of the beer here to be honest, they were inventive and dialed in for a newer operation. definitely one to try here.
