Lavender wax capped 750mL bottle from Justdoit1234 (thanks for hooking me up!). Bottled 07/2016. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.
Pours a bright orange hued yellow with about two fingers of white froth. An attractive thin layer of head spreads to the fluffy ring, imparting a few small crusts of lace.
An interesting amalgam of aromas. Orange, tequila, honey, coriander, wheat and wet wood.
Taste follows the nose. Oranges, honey wheat, soft yet flavorful tequila, chamomile, wet oak, toast, coriander and a gentle nip of alcohol. The flavors seem at once all over the place yet harmonious.
Silky medium full body with pillowy carbonation. The aftertaste is like orange tequila-soaked honey wheat toast with a mild herbal spice.
After thoroughly enjoying Watts Wheat Wine I was excited to try this. Tin Whiskers took that adjunct-rich base to the next level with their uncommon choice to age it in tequila barrels. The flavor ride is fantastic. Wholly unlike any other wheatwine I've tried and outstanding in its uniqueness.
