L: bright copper amber under a sticky 1" cream colored foam cap with good retention.
S: woody, malt, a trace of mint, biscuit, a hint of mustiness, and fruit.
T: mildly sweet malt, biscuit to graham cracker, light fruit, berry and an assertive bitterness. The berry is medium to medium high, the bitterness is medium high, the malt flavors are medium low, and the sweetness is medium low. The beer dries on the finish with a slight hop based astringency.
F: Very creamy and smooth with medium body and carbonation.
O: Lumen is a big, full flavored beer with moderate alcohol. The brewer achieves an especially nice balance between the bitter and berry flavors.
