not sure if they brewed this crazy beer for the state fair or what, i know a lot of weird ones get made for that. i believe this is a jazzed up version of their short circuit stout, not an entirely new base beer, but i could be wrong. these are tricky flavors to not only try to work into a beer, but to have them balanced between themselves with all the dark grain in here, its a tough task, and i think they have done a pretty admirable job with it. the chocolate for me is by far the most forward of the three elements, especially in the flavor, where the satiny smooth milk chocolate flavor abounds, and goes great with the roasted grain. the banana i think is the least flavorful, but i am okay with that. i think fake banana flavor would be horrible, and i imagine brown beat up bananas swirling around in a fermenter and its not real appetizing to me, so its okay that the banana element is minimal. the strawberry is more like generic berry sweetness, but its nice against the bitterness of the roast and the coffee notes that come with it. the chocolate on its own would be nice, im not sure the fruit is needed to hit the mark, and it ends up a little too sweet to drink very much of, but its a cool idea done pretty well. i have been enjoying the tin whiskers stuff lately! very inventive.
