I'm doing this off of memories of years past. I remember a hop-forward citrus heavy beer, that was incredibly refresh, although a little bitter. It is one of the higher abv beers, which is a rarity whilst in Ireland because of taxes and whatnot.

Poured from can. Nice, funky aroma on opening, light to mid gold in colour, foamy white head. Taste follows nose with hoppy goodness, citrus and in particular grapefruit. Dry finish. Good IPA.

Scraggy bay from Kinnegar in a 500ml bottle, BB date is 8 months away. The ingredients part mentions wheat, interesting.
Top: forms a nice, 2” thick, off-white head, average retention into patches of lacing (formed the shape of an elephant, hahaha) and a ring around the inside of the glass.
Colour: slightly hazy amber, no surprise here.
Smell: if I would see, I’d say NEIPA. Tropical fruits, grapefruit and a hint of spiciness, it’s fresh, entertaining, but very mild on the nose, I don’t expect a hop bomb.
Taste: fresh, and to support that feel, carbonation is medium, but with a microbubble feel. A typical NEIPA mouthfeel with a quite dry finish, the body is on the lighter side of medium, but it doesn’t feel watery. Citrusy notes (grapefruit, lemon) mainly, some maltiness is in the background. Bitterness arrives later to stay, with a piece of grapefruit.
Summary: a nice and simple IPA overall. Not a strong character, but a mild experience. It’s like a “good wife”. May not look like a supermodel, may not be the best chef, or a courtisane in the bedroom, but she delivers a reliable, good quality in all departments, you can depend on her. Can’t go wrong with this one.

One of my all time favourite IPA's. The bee has a strong body coupled with a very pleasant taste. The aroma of hops is just right. I always source a few bottles of Scraggy Bay when visiting Ireland.

look: three finger frothy white head with very good retention, beer is a lovely hazy amber colour with good levels of carbonation running through the beer.
smell: smells good, lots of sweet tropical fruit flavour, mango, papaya, lot of pineapple, some strawberry, caramel, toffee, dank, some white bread and biscuit malt.
taste: that’s a nice ipa, not as broad a range of flavour as i was anticipating but it’s still nice, still lots of pineapple, lot of mango, quite sweet, quite dank, some caramel and biscuit malt, serious bitterness on the finish, sweet fruit flavours linger, nice.
feel: light to medium bodied, medium to high carbonation, lots of lingering bitterness on the back of the tongue, sessionable and crisp.
overall: this beer is way nicer than i remember it being, good ipa here, would like to try again a little fresher than this can.

Pint at Guildhall Taphouse in Derry.
Electric gold in color with a bit of bubbly white on top. Light bready crackery maltiness with lots of citrus tropical fruits pine a resin to counter. I rather enjoyed this one.

pale golden, a little cloudy, sparse head which dissipates quickly, aroma is lemon, touch of pineapple, full fruity flavour, lots of lemon and malt followed by a big hit of hops, very tasty ale, I really like this one.
