500ml Bottle from Aldi Supermarket (Scotland):
Bright, cloudy amber to orange with a small, bubbly head about 0.5cm tall.
Strong banana with clove & coriander plus some bubblegum & citrus notes. Hints of orange, lemon & spice following with a fresh & slightly tarty aroma overall.
Banana & clove, albeit not quite as strong as the nose. Bubblegum follows with some wheat & citrus flavours plus some spice, various fruits & some floral tastes.
Smooth with a citrus tang & high carbonation, it's slightly sweet & easy to drink. It was a little lighter than I would have liked though but stayed lively & refreshing.
A surprisingly good offering & definitely worth a try but it's not as good as the more readily available German versions of the style so I'm not sure who this would appeal to other than those wanting to try a Scottish wheat beer as a one-off.
