Hirschbrauerei Sohnstetten

Stopped on my way between Dusseldorf and my brother's place in Heidenheim. My brother said it had been recommended by some local co-workers so we checked it out.
What a great stop. Ordered lunch in a classic gasthaus dining room. The food was solid Swabian cooking with a home cooking touch. The Pils was just outstanding. The dunkel lager very close behind. All beers served in their own individualized brewery glass ware. Sat along a table where the local chamber of commerce was having their weekly lunch meeting. They as well owners/staff welcomed the Americans whole heartedly. Was given a gift of a painted hirschbrauerei alt glass when we left. Hard to think any one could be treated better...and have excellent bier as well. Highly recommended.
