A Barnstormer original developed as a true Californicated West Coast IPA.
Flight delay is medium gold in color and clear, but because it is unfiltered and dry-hopped there may be a bit haze. Rounding out the appearance she has a great head stand with a frothy white persistent head.
Hop flavor is high, and reflects the well know American hop character showing the citrusy, floral, and resinous aspects found in a West Coast IPA.
Although showing a very high hop bitterness the malt backbone supports the strong hop character and provides a perfect balance. Malt flavor is not showcased but some caramel or toasty flavors are presented at low levels.

I consumed this in a glass poured from a tall boy Canadian 473 ml pint can. The beer features quite bitter hops (which I like) and perhaps a little bit dank. You receive the complete 85 ibu experience! It had been in a my fridge for a few weeks.

Can in the hotel room Mississauga.
Hazy deep yellow straw with a frothy white head that persists. Loads of citrus on the nose with bits of bready malt underneath. Loads of hop bitterness lingers long into the finish, nothing subtle about this one. Decent beer.

Flight Delay IPA from Barnstormer Brewing in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. 473 ml can. 6.5% alc. 85 IBUs.
A fluffy white head that gradually dissipates, leaving behind nice glass lacing.
The beer is golden in colour and hazy.
Aroma is predominantly citrus and pine.
Taste is grapefruit focused and a slight hop bitterness. There is also a very mild tropical fruit flavour. Quite subtle.
The beer is medium bodied and the finish is smooth.
Nice brew that I recommend trying, if you enjoy the style.

Pours a nice uniform cloudy amber with as much head as you want which fades moderately slowly to a thin puffy white foam which leaves quite a bit of lacing later on. Looks very nice in the glass. Aroma is nice citrus/floral with a touch of pine but a little weak. Taste follows the smell with some (but not over-the-top) pleasant citrus/grapefruit & pretty well balanced bready malt. The bitterness on the tongue just slightly outlasts the nicer hop tastes giving this IPA just a slight hint of a dry bitter aftertaste. Overall it's quite a nice IPA, perhaps above average for Ontario, but nothing which stands out from the crowd, despite the claim on the can that it's incomparable.

On tap at loose moose in Toronto. Has an interesting multi hued layering in a pint glass clearer and lighter at the bottom but adds color and haze moving up the glass. Good soft mouth feel with a bit of tongue dancing on the palate. Juicy Bitterness on the swallow but positively not overpowering. Only complaint is a lack of nose.

Says it's a West Coast IPA but certainly falls short. Lacking in the hop flavour and aroma department. Malt has a biscuity/burnt backbone to it which leaves you with a somewhat undesirable finish. Overall it's a weak beer. I will be avoiding this one from now on.

Can: Poured an amber color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy and bitter hops with light malt presence. Taste is a mix of citrusy hops with some bitter notes and some dry malt presence. Body was full with good carbonation. Not a big fan of the grain bill for this beer and bitterness could have been reduced in favor of more aromatic hops.

Deep dark amber in color. Borderline brown. Strong hops on the nose, passion fruits is the first inclination. Taste is full of hop punch and slightly over the top malts. Comes close to a Cali brew as proposed on the can, but agree with fellow BA reviews, it is still quite far. Worth the try, for sure.

Fresh can from the lcbo for around $3. Kind of an old school ipa, but decent.
