Dark brown with a ruby glint in the tall narrow stange, with ample carbonation in the mouth. Very light and watery in a refreshing way.
Quite darkly flavored with a lot of blackened malt, but more malty sweetness than charred sourness. The vanilla is just subtle enough so that it emerges more in the aftertaste. The hint of sweetness on the lips gives way to a dry and brambly aftertaste.
A nice scratch of hops balances this flavorful quaff. Brewed with East Kent Goldings hops and whole vanilla beans in the secondary, according to the brewer. Rated at 30 IBUs. On tap at the brewpub in South Park, Seattle.
