Poured into a Dogfish Head pint glass. Purchased in a pre-filled swing top mini-growler. Pours a medium orange amber with a half finger light khaki head that dissipates to a ring around the glass with wispy lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt and light grassy hops. Flavor follows, biscuit, slightly toasty malt forward with light grassy hops. Medium bodied. A malty, English style IPA with moderate hops, but little herbal hop flavors. Similar to a moderately hopped up ESB. I like the malt flavors here, but could use a bit more aggressive hop flavor. Close to what I imagine a traditional India pale ale may have tasted like. Since I may have chosen the wrong category for this, I'm rating as an English style rather than American style. Simple, but tasty. Because of the way the malt is handled, I'm interested in tasting the brown or stout from this small local brewery.
