Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 2/17/22. I added this under "Japanese rice lager" because it appears the style is indeed brewed with rice, although it's not Japanese.

Appearance: lightly hazy straw-golden hue with two fingers of frothy eggshell foam atop and a nice lace left on the glass as it dissipates. From what I've read about this (new-to-me) style, that sounds about right!

Smell: there's a nice malt here, but there's plenty of the "plastic"-y smell that I associate with heavily rice-adjunctified lagers. Within those parameters, this is not bad, but it's overall not my favorite.

Taste: the flavor here is super adjuncty: malt, yes, but corn and rice flavors prevail as well. Bitterness is on the rough side. As I work my way through this pint, I'm finding a nice richness of flavor that I didn't really notice at first. It's starting to grow on me in a way that a mass-market rice lager never has.

Mouthfeel: light body with a moderate carbonation and actually a pretty decent creaminess.

Overall: for a cheap pick-me-up on a hot day, this would really hit the spot. It kind of reminds me of the trend of "pre-Prohibition" lagers from 8 or 10 years ago. It has taken half the can, but this beer is growing on me.
