16oz can from Bridge & Tunnel. Dark brown pour, thin creamy beige head, brings of lacing. Light roasty aroma, some sweetness, chocolate. Taste is roasty, soft bitterness, dark chocolate with a substantial creamy feel. Luscious all the way through.

Pours a lovely clean mahogany colour. Good two fingers of khaki foam. Eventually recedes to nothing and leaves just little dots and rememberances behind.
Nose is grain and caramelly sweet which catches you a bit in the back of your throat. There's a vague nuttiness as well and a touch of earthy.
Flavour leads in sweet with some chestnut and roast and a sweetness that has an almost vaguely maple-persuasion before turning bitter with juicy, earthy, and spicy elements to that, verging almost into herbacious-ness but not quite turning that direction. Finish has a pronounced bit of char in there that kind of takes me by surprise, along with some nuttiness before recommitting to the piney bitterness that carries heavy through the finish.
Smoothe and lovely to drink with gentle carbonation and a dry finish that still manages to impart some sweet undertones, this is complex and enjoyable and packs a whole lot of flavour into just 4.6%.

Sampling a 16 oz can poured at cellar temp into my .5L dimple mug. Date stamp is 2/9/23. Beer pours a rich mahogany color that is so dark barely any light goes through the glass. A soft pillowy beige head of 3.5 cm foams up and fades slowly to a sturdy surface covering. Dense lattice clings to the glass when I take a sip or swirl the mug.
Aroma is dark malts and toffee, I get a bit of brown sugar and some toasted wheat bread, almost a roasted note in there. I do get some spicy or black tea scents as well to represent the hops.
First sip reveals a light body with smooth texture and fine, gentle rolling carbonation.
Flavor is similar to the nose, I get toasted grains and some wheat bread again. But here I also get bakers chocolate and some rye spiciness. the rye notes are surprising, it makes the wheat bread more pumpernickel to me. I also get a significant drying out factor on the swallow and a bit of that black tea bitterness accompanies this and lingers after the swallow.
this is a well balanced and interesting lager that I find enjoyable this evening.
