Poured from a bottle (no date I could find) into a plan bee stemmed glass
L: pours a light and clear yellow gold with a thin, dense, very white head. Fades to a nice small head, minimal slow visible carbonation
S: restrained funk leads the way, with some bright acidity and a suggestion of the heat from those peppers. Bourbon barrel adds some nice depth, get a hint of vanilla, char
F: solid mix of wild ale and those peppers lead the opening, nice and bright. Great hit of hot pepper flavor and heat right in the middle. Pairs with a sharper Granny Smith apple note that carries through the medium/long finish. Heat lingers for a bit, get more of a malty bread note in the finish too. Barrel again present like the nose, rounds things out and brings the flavor down an octave into the finish
F: light+ body, medium- carbonation, nicely drying
O: nice brew from plan bee. The base beer is pleasantly tart with a bit of restrained funk, hot peppers shine in the middle (I would have liked some more spice). Bourbon barrel adds some character, not bad!
